Yarny goodness!

On a bright note, a friend of mine bought me some yummy Malabrigo laceweight in the colorways Vaa, Cactus Flower and Tuareg – for whatever reason, the Tuareg was wound a lot looser so feels softer, but I know from experience that the others are going to be wonderful too. I think I’m going [...]

Project updates

I’ve got several things on the needles, and at least one more project I desperately want to begin but I’m trying to hold back on. My biggest focus right now is my Aeolian shawl… the photos don’t do justice to the colors, it’s much brighter than this. The yarn is Unplanned Peacock’s silk merino lace [...]

My first pattern!

Last night, I posted my first pattern for sale on Ravelry – Spring’s Beginning Scarf. I made it using Unplanned Peacock’s Twisty Sock in the color Bluegrass. Her yarns are just gorgeous- I really recommend them! Here’s a picture of the full design:

I’m also working on a celtic knot shawl – I have it drawn, [...]

Back to knitting…

I really need to get this blog back up and running. I just finished what may be my ultimate masterpiece. It is certainly one of the hardest patterns I have ever attempted- Fiddlesticks Knitting Peacock Feathers Shawl. I used Cascade’s Alpaca Lace in three colors- purple (1416), teal (1419) and blue (1422). [...]

Gaelen- the second week

ok- we’ve mostly given up on getting him to poop or pee outside for now. He’s fairly well paper trained (though he misses sometimes) and doesn’t seem to understand to go anywhere else. Ok- not the end of the world… a little frustrating, but we’ll get there.
Now- he’s in EAT IT ALL [...]

Gaelen- day two

He’s certainly more comfortable today, and rather amusing as always it seems. He had a case of the hiccups today and just curled up in my lap to be held. My husband even took him for a long walk today and seems to have had lots of fun. I picked up [...]
